The Adam Walsh case is finally closed. Apparently, they took another look at the evidence, and concluded that Ottis Toole, the man John Walsh has suspected for years, had indeed abducted and murdered Adam.
This case has always bothered me, but once I had my son, it became hard to even think about. Every time I see John Walsh on America's Most Wanted, I wonder how he continues to draw breath. There can be nothing worse on earth than losing a child.
Here is the video of John Walsh's statement. It's kind of hard to watch. Twenty-seven years, and the pain is still unbearable for him, I am sure.
Ottis Toole was a serial killer, was convicted of other murders, and died in prison in 1996. He had confessed twice to Adam's murder, and recanted both times. I bet it's really hot in that special place in the 9th ring of hell that I am sure was reserved just for him.

Yippee! A day off!
Wednesday, December 10th, is Day Without A Gay!
That's right. All homosexuals are encouraged to call in to work.
According to the website:
We've reacted to anti-gay ballot initiatives in California, Arizona Florida, and Arkansas with anger, with resolve, and with courage.
Because nothing says "We want to get married" like calling in to work, right? *shrug*
A day without gays would be tragic because it would be a day without love.
Yes, because the only true love is gay love, of course. *eyeroll*
NOW, it's time to show America and the world how we love.
NO. PLEASE don't do that.
Then there's this:
BUT I CAN'T CALL IN AT WORK ON 12/10 OR I'LL GET FIRED!
If you live in one of the 30 states where individuals can still be fired simply for being gay or lesbian, there are still plenty of ways that you can lend a hand and a voice in our fight for gay equality--without missing work.
So, if someone "calls in gay", and gets fired, they are being fired because they are gay? Um, no. They are being fired for calling in to work for a bogus reason!
Anyhow, I don't really feel like working tomorrow, either. I guess if the homos can do it, so can I. You know, equal rights and all that. So I think I'll call in heterosexual.

I'll take that as a compliment
Am I at all similar to Coulter? Let's see:
Conservative?
Check.
Outspoken?
Check.
Hot?
Check.

Ok, so I haven't managed that one yet, but you don't get far in life without goals.
Looks like I've finally made it. Even though my blog isn't entirely about politics, being compared to Ann has inspired me to keep writing about liberal hypocrisy and absurdity on an even more regular basis.
Unfortunately, my new fan posted his comment anonymously, so I can't even seek him out and thank him.
I do hope that I can live up to the standard.
How's this post, for starters? Shrill enough?

:(
Two things broke my heart today. Both had to do with little boys not much younger than my son. I never would have understood feeling this sad about things like this until I had him.
I won't get into the first story, but the second one is HERE.
Seeing that little boy crying, most likely for his mommy and daddy, just makes me sadder than I can even describe.
I know. Bad things happen to children every day, and I can't help all of them. That's what my husband always tells me. But maybe I can help this one, even if it's only in a very small way.
You can make a donation HERE. Do it. Even if you can only afford $2.00, it's something. They will email you a receipt, and it's tax deductible.
It won't bring back that little boy's parents, but maybe it will help him in some way.

Assault on Christianity
I was going to title this "Assault on Christmas", but it's more accurate to refer to it as an assault on Christianity, since it's not just Christmas the atheists hate, but anything at all to do with God.
Even as I type this, I can think of a few people it will probably offend. I have a Pagan friend. She might not agree with some of the things I say here.
There are also some Christians who won't like some of it.
I guess I am an equal opportunity offender. :(
So here it goes.
For the record, I don't really see Christmas as a Christian holiday. (Oh boy, the Christians are getting mad already.) Relax, I am a Christian, too. I just don't see anywhere in the Bible where it says that I am to celebrate the birth of Jesus. It tells the story of his birth. But that's about it. It doesn't tell me to reserve a special holiday for it. I always wondered about that when I was growing up. Then I met my husband, who has some really different views about Christmas, some of which I don't agree with. However, December 25th is NOT when Jesus was born. And the December 25th holiday (Christmas) DID come from Paganism. (I actually just made my Pagan friend really happy by admitting that.) None of that is really disputed. Whether or not it matters if we celebrate Jesus's birthday on a Pagan holiday or not....I have no idea. I'm not a Bible scholar. And I don't want to get into a debate on the subject, either. So I'll just say that I don't know if God gets angry at people for celebrating it (as my husband believes), however, I do not believe that he gets angry if I don't.
To my husband's dismay, I do put up a tree. (The tree comes from Paganism, too, by the way.) But I see Christmas as nothing more than a commercial holiday. Jingle Bells, snowmen, Rudolph, Fa La La La, La La La La. To those of you are are freaking out right now, please calm down. I believe in God. I believe Jesus is the son of God. I believe he was born to a virgin and died for my sins. I just don't believe that I have to celebrate his birth in order to get to Heaven. Thank you for your understanding.
I said all of that when I really meant to blog about this story.
The atheists/liberals really just hate God. Anything that's associated with Christianity, they mock it. And even though I don't really get into Christmas the way some Christians do, I know that this country was founded on Christian principles, and Christmas is a big part of Christianity for many people.
So, at the state capitol in the state of Washington, right next to the nativity scene, the atheist group the Freedom From Religion Foundation put up their silly little sign that says, "At this season of the winter solstice, may reason prevail. There are no gods, no devils, no angels, no heaven or hell. There is only our natural world. Religion is but myth and superstition that hardens hearts and enslaves minds."
And they call it free speech.
So, since I'm really not sure if celebrating the birth of Jesus on December 25th is cool with God or not, but I can't stand the whole liberal, politically correct, anti-God attitude, I have my own sign.
