Some idiot purposely ran me off of the interstate yesterday. I don't know why. It was raining, and suddenly this little car was right up against the driver's side rear quarter panel of my H2. If I tried to speed up or slow down, so did he. It was as if he was attached. I could hear and feel his car scraping against my truck! I didn't know what to do, so I ended up driving off into the grass at about 50 mph! When I finally stopped, I looked in my rearview mirror and saw that he had pulled off, as well, and was just sitting there in his car. I was afraid he might have a weapon and might try to rob me, so I just drove off. I exited the interstate just ahead, and then pulled over to the side because I was shaking and very upset.
About a minute later, a small car that I'm pretty sure was the same one, exited the interstate and drove past me, then made a left turn. I saw a girl in the passenger seat craning her neck to look at me sitting on the side of the road, and it looked like there were at least 2 other people in the car.
I called my husband and told him what had happened. His first words to me had nothing to do with making sure I was ok, or even that the truck wasn't damaged. He said "Why did you let those punks do that to you? You could have easily spun them out!"
Um, ok. I think someone has been watching a little too much Nextel Cup. I wasn't in a race car at Daytona International Speedway. I was traveling 60 mph down the interstate, in heavy rain, and someone was literally trying to push me off the road with their car. I didn't realize I was supposed to perform a Nascar maneuver on them! Not to mention, I wouldn't have even known how to do that. Somehow it doesn't sound like a good idea, anyhow. Is that the kind of thing they teach you in defensive driving courses?
Must be a man thing.
